Plugging the holes is a pain in the a$$. You will forget they are there, hit the drain and they will shoot out and you will loose them. Not to mention that you just spent 60k on a boat that isn't functioning properly.

On my boat, the water was draining out the vent and the drain hole on each side. The bags had those air release valves you had to brup, and vents on the hard tanks. (Hard tanks fill first, over flow into p-n-p.

My dealer fixed mine and 2 others by moving the vent hole forward of the rear locker (new hole on each side of the boat). They also installed vent lines on the bags and tied them into the tank vents so you don't have to burp the bags. Only negatives of this fix were the extra holes and that the antisiphons whistle when you are getting close to fully draining the tanks. I usually just shut off the pumps as I don't care if they are completely empty.

Look at the '15's, most have the holes moved forward of the locker (not all...shame on you Malibu). My dealer informed Malibu of this and their fix last summer around June, so they are well aware of it.

those new bigger hoses are 1 1/8" inside diameter right? So I would try to find a valve that has connections that have 1 1/8" outside diameters so they will slide right on. You can, but do not want to have to drop down to a 1" O.D. valve and have to find a reducer to make it fit.

I disagree on that one. I would get valves that are the same size or bigger ID. You don't want for the valve to be a restriction, or when you actually do go to drain it, it'll take longer, since you won't be able to take advantage of the larger hoses the boats now have.

I agree with this ^^^ but I never saw a good way to connect the ballast hose to a valve while keeping the inside diameter consistent. I am sure there is a way, I just did not find a good one during my project a few years back. It is definitely ideal. This valve only affects my drain time, and it is not a big deal if my drain time is slow. Let us know how it goes.
