I feel that way about axis right now :(

I have read threads on wakeworld about the horrible customer service from both Tige and Skier's Choice. It always seems like there are a couple of people that have had bad experiences with each manufacturer.

Yea I'm sure they all have issues. I'm just really frustrated with my boat right now. I feel like every time I take it out there is a new problem.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk[/quote]im having that same issue. And the customer service from my local dealer is terrible. Was told by the parts/mechanic guy he wasn't going to help me because I'm not paying him for the yearly services... I do them myself, And he doesn't make any money on warranty fixes. Totally pissed me off. I'm considering calling Malibu.

I would call malibu in a heartbeat. My dealer is pretty good my issue is we get 4 months of boating season so they are slammed and I want to use my boat..

2012 A22 here. I'm at 400 hours and no major issues to speak of. Only minor items fixed when the boat was under warranty (lights, rear hatch shock, vinyl to name a few). I'm very happy with the boat and would definitely continue with the brand in the future.

That being said from the posts above, it seems like most of the issues are coming from the newer models. I wonder if they have changed QA/QC processes or is it just the fact that there are more Axis boats being manufactured now than in years past.

I will tell you that the QA person who approved my boat should be fired. There was a list of issues with the boat on delivery that I would consider basic easy to fix things.

My wife and I ordered and purchased a 2015 Axis A20 and picked it up March of last year. I think this is one of the best looking boats I have ever owned but also the most disappointing. At a 68k sticker I expected much more. I have owned 2 Supra's before and never had any issues with either one after 8 years each. I have had nothing but issues (to long a list to mention) with the boat and dealer (nice people but terrible lack of communication in getting things fixed and charging me for stuff I think should have been covered under warranty) since we got it home. I think the quality of the boat is crap and do not think it will hold up for 3 years let alone 8 or more. The upholstery material is suspect. The cup holders either don't fit properly or are unusable. As listed elsewhere lots of debris in the lower parts when I took it apart last winter to clean. I hate the way it handles in rough water, have to back down anytime I run across any rough water. Even with front and center ballast full. I been in other v-drives and they weren't this bad. I hate the lip around the swim platform. I hit it almost every time I put my board on. Would prefer it to be flat. The flat textured paint on the tower should be rethought. I get a lot of compliments on the boat's looks and it throws a great surf wake but at this price point that is not enough. I understand this is Malibu's budget boat but it shouldn't be cheap. Moomba is Supra's budget line but the 2 older Outbacks here run and look great for there age and hours. I would have gone with another Supra but I have to be at 20ft or under. They don't make one any longer and the only thing Moomba had was the Outback and I really wanted a newer pickle fork design. If I had to do it over I would have spent the extra coin and gone with a Tige'. I have never written a negative email to a company in my life and in the 1 1/2 years I have owned it I have written 2 to the dealership and also one to Axis (heard nothing back from them so guess they really don't care they have my money) telling them what I thought of their product. I can honestly say at this point I would not recommend Axis to anyone. My brother in law actually said to me this weekend. You don't put a lot of hours on your boat and you are extremely anal about cleaning and caring for your boats. What would this boat be like if it was used hard and not taken care of. I have also heard there have been lots of issues with the 16 A20's. Go with the Moomba in my opinion.

Lots of great opinions here. I too feel like the axis boat looks great. Something about the lines and angles make it an extremely modern looking boat but over the last few days, I have heard others talk about the disappointment they have with the build quality. I think I am still going to take a test drive in the A22 and will keep you guys posted on what I finally decide.

List of issues I've had on my 2015 A20. Mind you, dealer is great, but it is a hassle to take the boat to them all the time.

1. Lots of trash after build, screws, nuts, and a 12" piece of fiberglass.
2. Noise under drivers area...ended up being an improperly routed cable slapping on the tanks. Had to re-route. Tech said he had never seen one routed that way before.
3. In trying to trace noise, found a loop of electrical cable that was about 18" long...thought it was slapping against the side making the noise. I tied it up.
4. Front ballast would fill all the time. Dealer said overflow from center was plumbed to the front. They had to replumb the whole setup.
5. Windshield out of alignment. Dealer had to remove and in the process tore the dash. Replaced dash and fixed windshield.
6. Both rear storage lockers, the nuts came off the back and struts came out. Problem is they are secured into a square tube with no access. Dealer had to install jack nuts to repair.
7. Had to reflash engine ECM. Boat would shut down at idle showing overheat.
8. Seat has some stitching coming loose.
9. Center ballast tank would fill without being switched on.

Most recently, the depth finder erratically reads DEEP...has started doing it more than last summer.
Also, under hard chop the noise that took a whole year to discover still exists. Honestly, I'm tired of taking the boat to the dealer and having them water test. Just tired of dealing with "new" boat going to the shop. I really hope that there is an end to the repairs, and once that happens I'll have a great boat. I do agree, that outside of the issues, I love the boat.

The dealer has sent a lot of these issues to Axis for review. I asked for feedback from Axis/Malibu and haven't heard one word back.

With the current pricing of an Axis boat (I estimate they've gone up well over $10,000 in 2 model years), I'd have to seriously reconsider going Malibu/Axis again.

I have a 2016 T23 with just at 60 hours and have had zero issues, rides great, fit and finish is alright, you can obviously tell the difference in fit and finish between axis/malibu the same way you do when you step in a moomba/supra. At the end of the day for us it came down to the dealership when we were deciding and also the surf wave on the axis was way better than the moomba mojo, but then again it all comes down to how the boats are setup.

I love the way my boat rides, surfs, handles, ect. For me it's just a lack of quality.
