I've got a 2015 T23. I use it pretty hard. Trailer it 5-6 hours each way 4-5 times a year plus local use. Overload it both to surf and just to carry gear when at Lake Powell. But I do all the suggested maintenance as well. I've got 165 hours on it so far. 125 last year and 40 so far this year.

I've had two annoying problems that the dealership can't seem to fix- buzzing in the tower speakers and an engine light that comes on but can be reset by turning the battery off and doesn't seem to affect performance. I've had a few other issues as well-

Rear compartment shock got loose as many have noted.
A slight yellowish vinyl stain no one can get out (? sunscreen)
Glove compartment hatch is a poor design. Noobies can't figure out to turn it so eventually it doesn't need to be turned.
Surf gate ram needed replaced after 160 hours. Interestingly, it was the one that gets used a lot less often.
The temp gauges aren't very accurate. Dealership says they work fine in the shop.
The ballast bags will fill a little when I don't want them to and will empty a little when I don't want them to. No biggie. Just occasionally empty/top off as needed during the day.
I had a cupholder fly off recently.

All in all, not too bad although last summer it felt like I had joint custody of the boat. The dealership had it all week then I got it for the weekend. But that was mostly repeatedly trying to fix the two issues noted at the top.

The finish is a huge step up from my last boat (a 2002 Glastron) but it's obviously not a Malibu. Unlike many Axis buyers, I can afford a Malibu and deliberately chose to spend less. I was actually hoping to avoid maintenance issues with electronics (touch screen, power wedge etc) more than anything. Those touch screens are apparently $15K to replace. I'm not really into bling either so the Axis fits me well in that regard. I mostly care about function and easily and quickly setting up a surf wave. The boat does that great, and that's why I bought it and plan to keep it long term. Not sure why people complain about how the boat handles in chop. It's way better than what I had before just due to its size and I think it does pretty well in the bad chop you get at Lake Powell main channel in the afternoons. I mean, I don't plan to take it on the ocean or anything...

I can tell you I had two Axis boats (both A22's 2010&2014) never had any real issues. Wakeboard wake was perfect but needed lots of weight. However didn't like the low freeboard however I think they have addressed that. And Pricing seems to jump more than other manufacturers.

Now Moomba's 15 and newer have come a long way. They have upgraded these boats in every way and are still very affordable compared to Axis with more options. The wake is a little more sensitive boat so are the majority of boats compared to BU's.

Go with the boat where you have the better dealer. Both are good but I give slight edge to SC Moomba as of now

Update: still haven't made a final decision. Stopped by the moomba dealer the other day to check out the Craz to see if I thought I would like the room better than the Mondo. They dealer also sells nautique and has a 2014 they are going to take in trade in the next few weeks that was onsite for service. Boat was a 210 sante and it looks like new. Hours were a little high but it is definitely an option with warranty still left on the engine and boat. Hoping to demo it soon before I make a final decision.

Also got up to date pricing on ordering a 2017 axis A22 and they are creeping up there. Almost 70k now.

I would also like to hear from long term Axis owners on how the boat holds up over a few years. Are there expenses other than routine maintenance, does the boat get rattles and squeaks, any chronic issues with them, etc.

Once again, thanks for any feedback you can offer.

I got the first line of a22. An 09. Boat runs just like it did when I bought it. Very very very minor items to fix, few dash screws got loose, few areas where speaker wires got exposure to sun and dryed out and cracked. Speaker cans got leaks and I upgraded them. This all happened in the last 2 years.

Oh carpet will need to be replaced at the end of next year, and the boat cover probably as well.

It's a great boat, and my wife and I surf and board on it every weekend.
