hey there, i know there are tons of setups on here but, i have not seen one that mirrors what we have been trying. We currently run with full stock ballast on our T22 with a bow sac( anyone know how much that actually is???) and 400 lb sacs in each rear locker. I have also been running wedge down to get a little more "weight" the wave typically looks pretty but, i am not sure if we are getting enough push. Im a bigger guy and i cant let go of the rope although i can find the pocket it is very hard to maintain. I assume part of it is technique as im a newb but, i am wondering if it is borad of weight as well. I used a hyperlite broadcast but, just found a used Shredd styxx big chief that i plan on trying soon as soon so maybe that fixes my issues since i heard mixed reviews on the Broadcast for big guys.( 260#)
Figured i would toss it out there and see if anyone had any advice/input. The spring has sprung and the lake is warming up!!!!!

The broadcast is not your typical board. It is so big that foot placement is tough to find. My first suggest is to sell the 400's and rock some 900's. Keep one 400 handy in case you are lite on people that day and throw it in the walkway to the bow. You will want wedge down if you are a bigger guy. Sell the broadcast and get something like the cwb tsunami off of ebay. It is a great board for beginners and is very durable for friends to ride.
Reason my hate for the broadcast is cause when I didn't know how to surf I was too back foot heavy on it. It moved slow too. It was tough to get to go foward on command. I am 5'9 230lbs. A good board that will teach you foot placement is key is a semi-skim board like the lf tc custom. Great board btw for all around riders. I can name some other boards too but you need to get your weight setup right first.

Thanks for the info... like I said, I got a big chief from shred styxx that I plan on trying but, I may look at that CWB for others since the styxx is pretty fragile. I was thinking of looking at 750s but, you think 900s? my concern is that I may then need to look at a new prop, although, my boat came with a "torque prop" so maybe that will already give me the torque id need for that weight.
