Hey people. I did my preseason oil change yesterday. I ran the tube out the rear drain plug hole and uncapped the line. Even with the oil fill cap off, the oil just trickled out. Is this normal? Have any of you tried the pump it out through the dip stick tube? All input appreciated.

Omg it sucks terribly! Same thing happened to me and couldn't really get it all the way out of the drain hole. There has to be a better way. Almost need a pump and with a female connection to the drain hose. I used a pump for trans fluid and that worked well.

And I was going to put it down the drain tube but I couldn't get it passed the senond bend. I have the crusader 350 in my 15 t22. I am curious to know how others have done it

That is how I drain my oil. I plan it to were I just let it drain all night, then finish up the next day.

I pump it out of the dipstick tube with the same pump I use for the vdrive and trans fluid. Takes around 15-20 mins if I get a good flow going.

Thanks for the replies. Just wanted to know if I was having an issue or if this is the norm. Went and bought a Jabsco pump today and will try the dip tube next time, or attach it to the factory drain tube.

Warm oil (don't recommend hot!) drains/sucks much easier.

Attach a pump to the threaded drain hose. It's a 1/2" NPT fitting, you can get it at Home Depot.

Be very careful about putting anything down the dipstick tube. You will hate life when your extractor tube breaks off.

Makes no sense to do it this way.

Just use this fitting on the drain hose and attach it to your choice of pump.
