do you have a volt/ohm meter?, you can start by checking the sub resistance and the output of the amp, my stereo recently started acting retarted and it ended up being a bad battery, i'm just glad I had a spare I could switch to and get back to the ramp.

Walter this happend to me last year. I pulled the sub and there was a jumper on the back of it that fell off. Quick fix!

This happened to me too ended up being a bad amp you can also move the sub output wire to another channel that you know is working, takes a couple seconds and you don't have to pull your sub out.
