The ski pylon works great for tubes. Because the boat is in a slightly bow up position, the rope doesn't really rub on the sundeck at all.

Yea that was my concern but after pulling a big 3 person tube the rope never touched it [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

I tried the tower this last weekend. 3-6 smaller kids on the tube and it seemed to work fine.

I have pulled small kids from the tower with no issues.

I was told by my dealer to tow a tube from the tower. My 2014 manual states the following:ski pylon- the optional ski pylon is designed for normal water skiing activities: slalom, jumping, kneeboarding, tricks and barefooting. Any other uses such as parasailing, kite flying, towing pyramids of skiers, etc. may over-stress the pylon.
FatAX tower: the tower is rated for a maximum of 130 lbs accessory weight and not more than 600 lbs total rider weight. Approved activities for usage of the tower include wakeboarding, wake skating, skiing or tubing.

The fear with pulling a tube from the tower is if that tube is a style which could submarine itself (mainly tubes that have a hole or lowered seating area). It could easily cause damage to your tower.

It's not a likely or common thing but I have seen pictures floating around of a bent tower from a tube submerging, so it's possible.

There is a harness that is made specifically for tubing. It attaches to the two lift points on the back of the boat across the transom with a pulling point for the tow rope to the tube in tha middle of said harness. it puts all the stress equally across the back end of the boat and works very well.
