80AMT23, quick question about your ballast bags:
Why did you go with the 825's instead of 900s or 1100s?
I'm coming from Sumo 900s on my sold 2013 A22, which supposedly held 1000 lbs. I heard the 825s are custom fit, but it seems like there should be a lot more space, especially since the T23 is a larger boat with a deeper hull than my old 2013..
So I was told by WakeMakers that they went to the Malibu factory and did custom scans of the rear compartments and made the bags to fit those dimensions exactly. There's even a little hip at the bottom front of the bag to extend to that area to connect to the plug and play. Completely full, the bags come right to the top of the fiberglass surrounding the compartment, so there's maybe 4 inches of space between that and the doors. They also told me they designed the bags to be that weight so when absolutely full the surfgate isn't sitting too far under the water. They said with much more rear weight the surfgate will sit too low and not perform as well and the wave would be washy. This is just what they said though. This could always be tested with a couple fat friends on the back.
I don't know exactly what the 1100s look like back there when totally fully but since they are longer than the dimensions of the compartment I can't believe they are getting completely full especially if they gotta squeeze under the front of the compartment to connect to the plug and play. Are you really getting 300 more lbs in there? idk.
