Possibly but would need to be after I get my OJ back. Gonna need it to bridge the gap for me while that happens.

It's probably your cruise control. Or set the cruise higher. I have same engine and high elevation prop on my 24. The actual cruise speed never meets up with set speed. I'm off usually a mile or two. But I'm at San Diego elevation.

Thanks Corey but it is not the cruise. It happens with or without it of the boat has too much ballast in it.

Silly question: is your bilge dry? ~500 extra lbs just doesn't sound like that much over stock ballast to be causing a problem. Even at 5k feet (not that I would know as I have never been in a boat at that elevation).

Yes the bilge is dry. You would be surprised how the altitude, and lack of oxygen, does affect motors. I know that everytime I have brought one of my cars from Denver down to Sea level I have been amazed at the difference it makes and how much the car "wakes up".

At elevation you need forced induction to make up for the lack of oxygen to maximize engines. My handle comes from that exact concept...just with snowmobiles.

Can you get the 550hp supercharged engine in an Axis? That would be the ticket for all you high altitude folks. Gonna be a serious price tag attached.

Yes from what I understand the 550 is available in Axis but unfortunately I'm a bit past that option. You are right a supercharger would make all the difference for my issue. I'm actually shocked that none of the programmer guys (superchip etc.) are not playing in the boat space. These motors use ECM's just like cars right? I'd pay good money to get an extra 10-15hp out of my rig as I think it would make all the difference. Should be easy for a tuner to push these motors a little more.

I really think that the pitched down prop is going to make the difference. You just need to be able to get the motor into its powerband to push the weight. When will the new prop arrive?

I just learned yesterday that Acme now has some 10 and 11 pitch props.

I'm going to send it off this week. Wanted to have the biggest "push" for this weekend as we knew we would be out all 3 days. The OJ 985 does have some more aggressiveness than the 2419. Even though it's a 12.5 vs 12 with the ACME. The other thing that I did notice is that the motor seems to build a little more power as it has gotten some time under it. I assume this is just due to things breaking in and fully seating within the motor.

Also had an offer to borrow a bag from someone I met at the lake yesterday to see what some bow weight will do for me. Between the 2 (weight and taking cup out of the prop) I hope to be getting closer.
