I am about to start the project of mounting a Go Pro to the rope in order to get some great shots.

I think that I have seen something on here or another site about mounting and several ways to do it.
I wanted to start a thread so people could chime in and post their ideas and links if they have them.

I will post pics and progress as to how it goes on my end.

Yeah it's actually really easy to do. I just got a 5 ft piece of PVC pipe that I fed the rope through. I cut a notch in the top for the handle to sit in so that i could hold it flat. I duct taped the handle to the PVC and bought a handlebar gopro mount that I attached to the other end. It looks really awkward but you don't notice it when you ride! I fell quite a few times at first because I was focused on not making a stupid face instead of riding! Haha

Awsome info. That's what I was thinking, PVC and a handlebar mount.

The notch that you cut, was it at the 'V' part of the handle...?
Was the duct tape used to keep the PVC from spinning around which helps keep the camera straight...?
How far from the handle was the actual mount to get your best shots...?

I also saw something earlier tonight about using part of a noodle(float) on the far end to keep it floating when you fall.
Thanks for the info. Hope to do this project this weekend.

Yeah, the notch was for the V part of the handle. The V will keep or from spinning. The duct tape keeps the PVC from sliding down the rope and it also keeps the handle in the notch. I'll take some pics tomorrow!

The noodle is a good idea! I have the gopro float thing that sticks to the back so that worked pretty well!

OK Gang. Here is my set-up with the GoPro. Really easy to do.
Section of PVC conduit cut down to 4'. May actually cut this down further once we get some shots and get camera at a proper distance. Right now we are at about 3' from handle V.
Used my Dremel with the sander attachment to make the V section for the handle to fit into.
Duck tape to attach handle.
Swim noodle on end for flotation.
GoPro handlebar mount to attach to PVC.

Will post pics after this weekend.
Still trying to decide to do video or a picture every second.
Anyone that has done this..... what settings did you use on video mode...? (r1, r2, r3, r4 or r5...?) Using a GoPro Hero.
