OK so it is a 5,500 pound boat and trailer, and the KIA is rated for 3,500 pounds, but those crazy Koreans think in metric, so it must be OK, right?

I tow from my storage garage to the gas station to the ramp a total of maybe 5 miles level ground. Works fine, but I would not want to do any real towing with the KIA. The KIA is too light to pull the boat out of the water, the front tires will spin on a dry non-steep ramp. I need to use the boat to push the car to get things moving.

I drive 280 miles each way to 'the river', and like the 28 MPG with 4 adults and a dog, so I refuse to use a real tow vehicle...

Front wheel drive. 2 spinning wheels with little tractive force. But the little V6 has plenty of torque that it struggles to connect to the ground.

I enjoy the humor of it all. And yes I doubt anyone else with an Axis tows with such a small car. I had the boat delivered in Arizona where I keep and use it (saved thousands in sales taxes). The delivery guys kept asking where was my truck. I said that KIA is my tow vehicle. They laughed and said things like SERIOUSLY DUDE WHERE IS YOUR TRUCK. When i backed up to it, they took pictures and drove off laughing.

I tow my a20 with a 4wd v6 honda pilot. Probably a little beefier than your Kia, but yea, I feel your pain with the wimpy tow vehicle.

My old boat was a 2001 mAlibu 23lsv. I towed it with an 07 Tacoma and it did surprisingly well. Tacoma was rated at 6500 lbs. 70-80 mph highway was not a problem. It would rev high but keep on getting it. Only problem was I got about 8mpg towing.

With my new t22 I'm towing with a ram 2500 cummins. Can still knock down 16mpg with boat in tow.

Yes. 2010 Titan SE with the tow package and larger rear gearing. Does pretty well towing our A22. Mountains bog it down but downshifting does wonders.
