I will close mine down tomorrow and have an unofficial / official update to the biggest question of the century.

OK. I looked tonight and folded my tower in every position that it could be in and there is NO WAY what-so-ever that any other pole could come into contact with the poles with the "mystery Velcro". I am calling BS on the Apex official statement.

I will be going back up tomorrow with the Goo-Gone to get them off as well as any remaining residue from them.

But a part of me still wants to know what they were really for in the first place....?

I'm in the same boat (pun intended)...it's making me nuts

This is what this forum is all about... It makes some sense that maybe there was an original design to it and they never scrapped it but someone is still intentionally putting it on there.. with no purpose. I can't handle it I need answers.

Son, we live in a world that has wakeboards, and those riders have to be pulled by men with boats. Who's gonna do it? You, Master Craft? You, Nautique? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Wakeboarders, and you curse the Velcro. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That the Velcro’s death, while tragic, probably saved money. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves money. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about it at the lake, you want me on that boat, you need me on that boat. We use words like Wake, Ballast, Poor Mans Gate. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent on the water. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rides and surfs on the blanket of the Wake that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a wakeboard, and start riding. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

Simple resolution to this matter...get a Z5 and you won't have to look at the Velcro lol
