I get about 14 around town and about 18 on the highway. Towing I get about 8 to 10. I am running pretty heavy tires.

Had to add a comment to this thread after my short experience with the new 5.3l ecotec engine. Just picked up a '14 Sierra SLT All Terrain edition with the new 5.3, and I'm a lot happier with this truck compared to my last truck, which was a: '12 Sierra SLT All Terrain (also 5.3). I always complained about the tranny/engine combo in my last truck. Shifting was clunky, the active fuel mgmt made things even less smooth, and the engine didn't perform like the 5.3s I used to drive (have also owned an '01 and an '03 Sierra previously). The new 5.3l puts a smile on my face again, plus I'm getting better mpg compared to my '12. Just thought I would share, I couldn't justify upgrading to the 6.2 and glad that I didn't have to. I'll report back when I tow with it for the first time.

2012 F150 FX4 Ecoboost, I get about 10/11 mpg pulling the boat and 17 average when not. It's stock except for the Banks exhaust and S&B CAI. Haven't convinced myself that I need a chip yet....but I'm thinking!

Hi everyone!

Using this thread to say HI, as I'm a new member to this forum and hopefully
an Axis boat owner in the near future. Doing some research on the A20 right
now to see if it's a suitable boat for my needs.

Has anyone experience in towing the A20 with an '06 Toyota Tacoma V6 SR5?
As per manual it's towing capacity is rated at 6,500lbs, which should be plenty
for a 3,500lbs boat + trailer.
However, I want to be sure that there's enough oomph to easily pull the boat
out of the water and don't get stuck on the ramp.

Cheers

I used to pull a 2001 malibu 23 lsv with a 2007 tacoma 4x4 4.0.

It actually did really really well. Boat I believe was a little heavier than the a20. I think around 3800 plus trailer.

Don't underestimate the tacoma's capability. Buy the boat you want it will pull fine.

I have pulled over 6500 with the tacoma. It pulled fine but stopping was another story.

Sweet, thanks. That's good news. I was pretty sure
that pulling the boat wouldn't be an issue, but I wasn't sure
about passengers in the car, equipment and gas etc.
Just wanted to make sure I don't have to end up buying a new
truck to pull the boat up the ramp.
