So went down to the closest dealer to us yesterday and placed an order for a 2015 T22. Woot! First boat for us.

We got quite a few options but skipped quite a few as well mainly due to budget. I had a number in mind that was the most I 'wanted' to spend on a new boat and the dealer worked with us VERY WELL to get us a boat.

2015 Axis T22 - Charcoal Base and Indy Red Accent

2 swivel racks
PNP Ballast
Surfgate
Wedge
Sound Pack 1
Transom Remote
Flip up bolster
Dual battery switch w/ 2nd battery
Pull up cleats
Grey carpet
Cover
Bimini w/ rope & surf board storage
Tandem axle boatmate trailer
Depth finder
Transom Ratchet Straps
Guide Pole Covers

We are waiting on confirmation of delivery date but expected late April so still before the season for us.

Anything I should change that you guys recommend?

Pics when I've got them!

-Matt

The A20 is a great choice. What engine did you go with and do you surf or wakeboard more?

Thanks, I'm sure we'll love it. We went with the base engine because the dealer said we wouldn't need anything more, same with the prop. I've only surfed once behind a friends boat last summer. It was awesome but I definitely need more practice. I've wakeboarded many years behind a 1996 Malibu Sunsetter LX. Boat is direct drive, no wedge or ballast so you can imagine the wake isn't anything to write home about. That's about the extent of my experience but I also slalom occasionally and have been known to kneeboard as well. I think it'll probably be a pretty even split of wakeboarding/surfing for us on this boat and I'm excited to be able to expand my wakeboarding ability.

Here's my dad's boat that I basically grew up on and my wife and I have used for the past 5 years as if it were ours since he doesn't use it like he used to. Great boat but the A20 is a whole different animal.

First of all Congrats on the new boat.
Second, Congrats on the big win..... that's really hard for me to say but you guys played well.

Looks like you have all of the options covered pretty well. I really like my swivel racks especially when we tie up to a dock or another boat. Sometimes when tied to a dock I have to swing them in depending on the water level on the lake. Takes all of the worry out about rollers coming in and rocking the boat and them getting hit.
You can always upgrade the stereo system as money makes itself available.
I also added a heatercraft heater and absolutely love it. One of the best upgrades that I have done.
I also like my PTM Edge mirror, which you can also add later.
Other than that it really looks good man and congrats again on the new boat.

O...H... awww hell I cant make myself do it. Roll Tide...!!!

Congrats. You will love the A20. My wife and I bought a 14 last summer and love it. Where do you usually ride? We typically go to Alum Creek and wakeboard in the morning, surf the rest of the day.

Great colors on the boat, the A20 is truly a hard boat to beat in the 20 ft range when you factor in what you get for the price.

Looking through your options, it looks like you hit all the main things.

Pair fixed combo racks - Easy way to save money, as mentioned the spinner are nice if you tie up a lot but its not a big deal, I prefer the fixed.

PNP Ballast- From the factory this only includes the plumbing and rear fittings, you will still need to get PnP bags. The A20 still uses the Axis arrow bag for the nose but you have your options for rears. I would stick to the SL Sumo bags personally but its user preference. The Sumo 600 rears are a great bag for that boat.

Surfgate - A must for an Axis boat, especially for resale value
Wedge - See above for surfgate.

Sound Pack 1 -
Transom Remote

Flip up bolster - Should be standard in a boat but still a must have.

Chillax seat

Dual battery switch w/ 2nd battery

Pull up cleats - should be standard in a boat, but still a must have

Cover
Bimini w/ rope & surf board storage
Tandem axle boatmate trailer

Depth finder - again, should be a standard but is a must have.

The only other items I would look into have already been mentioned. The PTM Edge mirrors are a VERY nice accessory to have. keeps you from adjusting the standard CIPA mirror these boats come with.

Heaters are nice in a boat, but keep in mind they do take up space and they only blow out hot air while underway. If you are stopped and swapping out riders you will have nothing coming out of those hoses. Hot Water showers are a better buy if you ride with a wetsuit, or even electric blankets or just heavy Sleeping bags.
