I was re-routing my rear plug-n-play drains the other night and happened to notice something.

There is a T fitting that connects the drain pump to the Hard Tank and the Ballast Bag. That T fitting has a VERY small diameter and looks like it could possibly bottleneck drain times pretty severely. Anyone else notice this?

I sent an email to wakemakers to see if I could modify it and put a 1" T fitting in.

Yea I found the same thing on my boat. I just went to the hardware store and bought a 1" female T fitting. You can screw the pump directly into that. The 1" elbow out of the tank also goes directly into it. All in all, I removed the unnecessary fittings and opened the lines up considerably. The factory T fitting has 3/4" openings. Pretty dumb idea but they probably had the inventory left over.

Do you think it made a big improvement?

What year is your boat? I had a 12' that was suppose to have 3/4" hoses, but Liquid Force custom ordered it with 1 1/8".

I looked it up, all the pumps regardless if 3/4" hoses or 1 1/8" hoses have 3/4" threads.

I actually just got done doing the exact thing to a buddies new malibu. So I went to the hardware store and I think the exact PVC T-fitting was 3/4" or whatever size the 1100 gph pump threads are.

you'll need:
2, 3/4" female T-fittings
2, 3/4" all thread, 1" long
2, 3/4" to 1 1/8" thread to hose barb (you may already have these)

***I noticed a huge difference. The factory 3/4" T fitting has male ends but the actual inner diameter is 1/2", so the 3/4" female fittings have the full 3/4" inner diameter as well.

Although this pvc fitting isn't threaded, look at the difference between the factory BLACK male 3/4" fitting vs the 3/4" white female fitting I installed

Not sure I am concerned with this. Drain time has never been an issue. I am curious as to hear what size the drain holes are thru the hull. If they are 1" then it might buy you something replacing these fittings, if not, it doesn't buy you much except for less friction loss.

dezul, draining has always been somewhat slow for me and I don't have surfgate so drain times need to be decent for listed surfing

I'll take some pictures of what I have in my boat. It was visibly VERY small, definitely much smaller than thru hull fittings and the threads on the pumps and tanks.

I definitely don't have that issue. I do have the issue with the arrow sac not draining all the way.

This is the 2nd time this week I've ready this. What do you do to get it drained? Does it make it difficult to load on the trailer with it partially filled? Do you just pull the seat to check if drained or what?
