hello, first post here. my current boat is a crownline bowrider. I wakeboarded behind my stepson's supra and now want to have a boat with a tower. I am looking at buying an 2015 A22 boat, wondering if this is a good deal or not.

base boat $61072
options $22117
boat show discount -4500
in stock rebate -3500

total $75189

this includes the 'tricked out trailer' I am going to see if I can get a normal trailer to save about 3000.00

dealer is Stateamind in St. Louis.

have never bought a new boat before.

what seems fishy is they have 3 boats in stock and the options prices for what seems like the same item vary by a small amount from the least expensive boat to the most expensive boat. the heater, for example, is $528 for the 75k boat, and $542 for the 78k boat. I know that is not much difference but I am trying to see how boat pricing works. how much room do the dealers typically have to move?
havent figured out how to load a pic of the build sheet.

also I checked Essex boat loans and looks like a 4.37% on a50k-70k note, wondering if it is a realistic interest rate on a 15 yr note.

thanks!

Does the boat have sound pack 2 or 3? 75k is paying msrp for the boat. If you can get them to come down under the 70k mark, you should be fine with the price. I know a lot of people that paid 65k for their 2014 A22 with sp2.

$75k does seem pretty high for an A22. I just paid $10k less for a fairly well equipped 2015 A22 w sound pack 2. There are dealer invoice websites that are fairly accurate and will help you in negotiations.

As far as loan, I got 5.1% on a 10yr from a local credit union. I read a lot of bad reviews about Essex customer service.

thanks for your replies. I will look for the invoice websites. just curious, would november or december be a better time to buy? right about now(spring), the boat prices go up, right?

mogey5, did you just buy your boat?, the one I am looking at has the soundpack 2, 350hp, I called the dealer about swapping out the tricked out trailer, he said we could, he is reworking the numbers, but that will drop about 4000 from the sticker, according to my math.

thanks.

Yes I just took delivery a week and a half ago. I have the 350 as well. I started negotiating a long time ago though, so I'm not sure if that helped the price. But I would think buying now would be higher..

Might save a lot of money if you found a 2014 leftover. Can't hurt to look around. Plus it might give you leverage in your negotiation. It saved me a lot of money on a 2014 A22 Vandall, but I bought at the beginning of December.

Different hulls. I would negotiate with a '14 T22 price over the '15 A22.

the t22 was cheaper than the a22 in 2014, and also not the same boat. Discounts are less for a dealer on the new A22 and the base price jumped from 2014-2015. You are at a disadvantage in negotiating on any brand new model. Good luck with your purchase!

Well... I did it. actually the boat I gravitated to was the one for 77.7k ..
according to their build sheet:

base boat 61072
options 25654
boat show disc -5500
in stock disc -3500
swap to plain jane trl -2600

I offered them 70k and they took it. so it is about 5k under sticker or so.
this has the black hull with the red flake, and stereo pack 3. I figured with spring here, that I wasnt in a great position to bargain..I told them that this was no BS and all I was willing to give. looking up the invoice on the internet was not very decisive...but I figured it was around 63 or so. I told the salesman that and made the offer. kind of like buying a car...dealer is going to make money i guess. may have over paid but oh well.

hell of a lot of money.. I can get a home eq at 4.35% or a boat loan 10yrs at 5.75% will probably do the home equity loan. I will post a pic once I figure out how to do it. My family will enjoy this for many years.

now I have to sell the crownline...
