I just took delivery of my 2015 A22 a few weeks ago and I had read all the bad reviews about Essex online, but they were offering 4.65% on $43k for 15 yr. I couldn't find any banks or credit unions that would come close to them so I pulled the trigger and hoped for the best.

Surprisingly the turn around time for the loan was about 10 days and being a Costco member the only loan processing fee I paid was $55.

I'm not sure if I was just lucky or if Essex finally got their act together, but I was really happy dealing with them and managed to save a lot of money.

Well... I did it. actually the boat I gravitated to was the one for 77.7k ..
according to their build sheet:

base boat 61072
options 25654
boat show disc -5500
in stock disc -3500
swap to plain jane trl -2600

I offered them 70k and they took it. so it is about 5k under sticker or so.
this has the black hull with the red flake, and stereo pack 3. I figured with spring here, that I wasnt in a great position to bargain..I told them that this was no BS and all I was willing to give. looking up the invoice on the internet was not very decisive...but I figured it was around 63 or so. I told the salesman that and made the offer. kind of like buying a car...dealer is going to make money i guess. may have over paid but oh well.

hell of a lot of money.. I can get a home eq at 4.35% or a boat loan 10yrs at 5.75% will probably do the home equity loan. I will post a pic once I figure out how to do it. My family will enjoy this for many years.

now I have to sell the crownline...

That is a very fair price for it to have sp3. You are right about dealers not having to bargain much at this time of year.

I was in the same position as you but I held off. I got a special offer in the mail from essex over the winter for 3.99% for 10 years on my current boat to refinance it. I was tempted but the bad reviews killed it for me. If I see another offer come through, I may hop on it.

We are so excited!..my wife and I went to the local bar and grill to eat and down a couple of frosty ones...you know, since we just spent 70k!! I know you all can relate. going in thurs to sign the contract. cant wait to get it out on the water. Stateamind takes boats out on the water frequently, they did it today I just could not make it due to short notice. never drove a Vdrive. as soon as it warms up in the 80's we are going out.

I am going to print out the thread about checking over the boat before taking possession.

also going to ask the dealer to install that 90 deg elbow in the sac filling system.

anything else?

also is the Monsoon motor based of the traditional Small Block Chevy?

I am a muscle car guy (Big Block Chevy), I felt around where the spark plugs whould be but could not even find or feel the wires!!

I went with essex too. It took time to fund and I had to be patient but my rate is around 3.7. I also got a 100 costco cash card in the mail a week ago. that was a nice surprise. I wouldn't say the experience was great but for the minor inconveniences it was worth the low rate. I prob wouldn't refi a boat with them but I'd do another new boat purchase (because the dealer helped move the process along).

fyi - good price with stereo pack 3.

new wrinkle...my wife wanted the "tricked out trailer" after all so we called them up today talking about when to come in and sign paperwork and such, the fella said he had to swap the trailers out, and my said if you can split the difference with us we will take the 'tricked out trailor'. so that helped out more. am pretty excited! will get to bring her home next week. I really like the open bow with the A22. we usually have at least 6 people in our Crownline lot of fun.
