Hey guys, I'm looking for some input on an estimate we were given to upgrade our sound package 2 in our 2014 A-22. It seems high! But what do I know?

I'm not terribly knowledgeable in this department so try not to get too technical with me. We primarily surf, like 90% of the time, so My primary complaint is we would like more volume, more push from the speakers, with less distortion than sound package 2 is offering. Also, with separate volume control of the tower speakers and interior. They don't have to be any particular brand - just quality sound. So given those specs, below is the estimate we got. We were hoping for something more in the 2-2.5k range? Is that realistic?

All the prices appear to be retail. Prices seem fair to me. Installation cost seems inflated. They are roughly charging $100/hour. Which to be fair, covers the overhead required to own a shop and pay employees. Your alternative is to buy all the equipment yourself and have them install the stuff you can't...or you could install it yourself. I personally prefer to install all my own stuff cause when it breaks, I know how to fix it quickly.

Get a price quote with exile also. You can knock a grand off of that price by going with a single pair of Rev 10's or 8's. They will be plenty loud enough to wake up anyone within a half-mile distance behind them.

Most people don't like just two speakers on the tower. I love it. The head room is nice. I still manage to bump my head on the two outer Rev 10s. If you want to be heard at party cove, just get some Rev 410s.

Prices are pretty standard IMO.

It's a fair/average quote. I'm not a fan of Exile whatsoever but occasionally they have a great sale on some of their demo equipment and the prices are really good so you can get on their email list and wait. You can just go with 2 tower speakers but it looks "off" in my opinion but it'll still be plenty loud.

Is there a way to keep two of the speakers we have on the tower and add two? Or maybe not, are they typically attached, I can't remember?

Wow, you are really new to this, Exile is a brand...not a shop. DO NOT mix your speakers, you'll be doing more harm than good.
