So long story short I screwed up when I bought this boat and it will not fit in our garage at our families summer property so I will have to store it outside for this winter only (hopefully having an addition with a 3rd big garage done to the house next spring so we can put her inside).

I am having the dealer winterize it but I am struggling to get the boat dry inside and stay dry.. should I buy a dehumidifier and run it non stop under the cover for the winter? (I can easily run a drain line out the drain plug hole) or just let it stay cold and damp and have a mess in spring to deal with? I do plan on pulling carpet and all the seats that I can and storing them in my garage.

Or do I just buck up and spend 250 bucks a month for indoor storage?

thank you

Personally I'd buck up and spend the coin on inside storage. Even if you shop around and find a place an hour away for less I think it'd be worth it. My boat sleeps in a heated garage year round, no way I'd leave it outside especially during winter.

$250 is pricey though, I've never needed to rent storage but a quick glance shows low $100's here should at least keep it under cover/dry, where $200 would provide heat.

Yea I live in seattle nothing Is cheap.. that 250 was a 2 hour drive away closer to our summer home. I have an email into two other places looking for pricing. Problem around here is land is worth to much to have storage.

 What about your dealer? Maybe they have some connection for storage places?

so dealership is $1750 for winter storage (more or less 7 months) not to bad I guess the problem is for that price I can buy a nice metal carport to put on the back of my property to keep it out of the weather.

I also am in the NW and struggled year after year with your same dilemma. I was paying 180/mo for covered storage at a facility in the north end. I ended up putting a 14x30 metal carport on the backside of my property......it has already paid for itself. Plus my boat is always here, not 30 min away. I wish it would fit in my garage but even with the platform off its still not doable.

I'm going to look into this as I have the perfect spot just not sure how much shit the city / county will give me.

It is considered a "temporary structure" so there really are no issues with the county. Can't speak to the city (we are in Snohomish County).
