Hey everyone. Just bought a '15 A24 and washed it for the first time. Everything looked great except the rear port compartment won't drain out the water. Any thoughts? Is there a hose or something else. Thanks.

The rear bag won't drain? If so the drain line in the rear of the bag is likely kinked / pinched. Do a search on here it's a easy fix.

Floor of the port rear locker? Port rear ballast sack? Port rear tank?

Sorry I was not clear. The rear port compartment won't drain. I don't think it has anything to do with the rear sac. The same starboard compartment drains into the bottom of the boat but the port won't. I put a stiff wire about 24" down in the drain and it doesn't feel obstructed. I also tried to flush with water but still it wouldn't drain. It's got to be something simple but I don't want to start ripping up the floor if I don't have to.

So you're saying the sac drains into the tank and then stops draining?

That's what I'm trying to figure out too. Sounds like a total newbie to wake boat terminology.

What are you talking about???!!! There's either the tank or the ballast sack that holds water...which is it that won't drain???!!! All you are saying is "the compartment"...what part???!!!. You gotta help us so we can help you.
Here's an little info for you. The rear ballast compartment has 2 drain lines. Some people use only 1 if the PnP sack only has 1 drain port. Most of the newer PnP ballast sacks have 2 drain ports on the ends of the sacks. When you connect those drain hoses (1 or both) they will drain into the rear ballast tank located under the floor (there's one on each side of the engine of the boat). From there they will drain out of the boat via a drain pump (there's a drain pump for EACH side). Either you have a priming issue with the pump (air in a looped part of the drain line), the cartridge in the pump could be blocked or defective, the pump is broke, or possibly an electrical issue which is not turning on the pump. I don't think there's a kink in the drain line from the sack to the tank because they are pretty short anyways and need to be trimmed for larger sacks. However, there could be a slight chance of a kink in the line under the floor to the drain thru-hull...unlikely but possible.

The way I took it is that after he washed his boat he has free standing water in the ski locker, sounds like the drain holes in the stringer is plugged up with something, I don't think this question has anything to do with the ballast system.

I had the same issue when mine was new. I used my air compressor and blew it through the drain hole, all good after that. T I think it was a little fiberglass or plastic from construction that went into the small drain line.
If that doesn't work, have dealer look at it

Maybe it's just me but...I've never washed the INSIDE of any of my boats. Wipe down with various cleaners and conditioners yes...but to take a water hose or pressure washer to the inside, no way. Unnecessary in my opinion unless it's strictly to flush the bilge compartment after some oil or other fluids spilled. If I had a little bit of freestanding water in a rear locker or under seat storage along the side, I'd just soak it up with a towel but man, how much water could one use to wash the inside of a boat to have a drainage issue?

Thanks for the help. There was something plugging up the "ski locker" compartment and the compressed air did the trick. I just bought the boat used and it was dirty so I did rinse down the inside and there was just a little water that wouldn't drain out and I knew that wasn't right, hence the question. Thanks again and I appreciate the explanation on the ballast system as I am a "newbie".
