I assure that's sarcasm about the Colorado water. I've been disappointed with how little light you get from the standard rear lights in Lake Powell. It lights up the wave enough to surf at night, but nothing extra. I assume there's more output in clearer water. Overall it was fun to try once, but not something we'll be making a habit of. Especially given the fact that it's illegal. Although it was far easier to see a fallen surfer than I expected, especially with a spot and the headlights.
