I thought people might be interested in my experience as there are frequent questions on this topic.
I bought a new prop from Wakemakers, the 2315 (15" x 12" pitch, 4 blade) which is considered to be their recommendation for the 2015 T23 for "heavily weighted." My other prop is the 1235 and I was looking for something that could move more weight at altitude with not as much strain on the engine. My local reservoir is at 6,200 feet. The highest altitude I use it at is 7600 feet. I put the most hours on it at 3700 feet. I plan to continue to use the 1235 at 3700 feet and use the 2315 at the higher elevations.
At 6,200 feet, my 2015 T23 with the 409 engine with full gas, three adults, no ballast maxes out at 39 mph at WOT on glassy water. That's 5600 rpm.
With the ballast (all hard tanks full, 650 in the front, 900s in the back for total of 3,350 lbs of agua) full and three adults, it will plane out, although not by much. We didn't wakeboard, but I think we could have pulled a wakeboarder up. However, once I put the wedge down, we could not longer plane out. Max speed was 13 mph at WOT. Certainly fast enough to surf, but not to wakeboard. The good news is it didn't seem to strain at all to surf at 11.8. I'm confident I could throw a lot more people (or ballast) in and still surf nicely at 11.8.
I can't remember my numbers with the 1235, but I'll try to post them when I go again. I think even at 3700 feet it's max speed at WOT is only something like 42, so not much top end lost.
