Hey, I go boating in havasu we keep our boat in havasu springs and have a blue and white axis a22. I love seeing other axis owners on the water.

I'm pretty sure I parked next to you in the channel the weekend of April 4th. I was with my wife and daughter. If that's 4 rockford's on your tower I'm pretty sure that was you. Beautiful boat!!!

How do you like the springs? How much is storage over there?

I didn't make it out for Desert Storm because of the weather. It's so hard to judge weekends in Havasu in spring time haha never know what your going to get. That metal flake looks money!

The lower half of the Parker Strip from Sundance to Bluewater is fine for inboards. Above Sundance, wear good polarized sunglasses and learn where a few shallow locations are before towing! The depth is fine except in a few Visible and Unchanging locations. With that said, inboards can operate up to Castle Rock Shores.

I do not take the Axis above Castle Rock Shores.

Been operating boats (jets and inboards) on this stretch of River since the early '90s.

Funny story about boating in upper Parker. I was out there for New Years towing my buddy in his g23. We had about 3k on top of stock of ballast, the water was extremely low. Apparently, during winter. There's a shallow area on the north end of echo lodge, it was maybe 2-3ft deep. I didn't realize the sand bar was coming up until it was too late. Anyway, nothing happened to the prop, but seeing a fully weighted G wake go from being monsterous in size to just the size of stock boat, was a little Harry to say the least.

We ended up cruising all the way up to the dam, but it was sketchy. It's crazy how low they let the river get during winter. If I remember right, it was about 2-3 feet low. So those spots that are usually 5-6 feet deep, are now only 2-4. Pretty crazy in a G.

Yes i remember that! I absolutely love it down there. It tends to stay a little more calm then other parts of the lake and i like that its kind of your one stop shop (bar, store, boat shop, restaurant, boat ramp etc...). The storage is great they have a lot of storage units out of view as well on the other side of highway 95 that they own. as for the price . . . i believe its 200 for our 40" unit.

You guys are brave boating in shallow water. Shallow to me is less than 30ft. Avg depth where I boat is 40'-100'. Went on a river 3 times avg 6'-12' and I felt like puking the whole time I was so nervous.

I like it to, rarely head that way cause it's such a journey cruising at 25-30mph hahah. Sometimes we go down and have lunch or anchor in California cove. A friend of mine with a Chaparral keeps his trailer at the springs and he loves it.

We keep our boat across from Windsor & it's $145 for a 35' unit. 12' door though so it's nice not having to take the tower and Bimini down.

When you headed out again? I'll be out for a day trip this Saturday & then memorial weekend.

When we do Havasu, we launch at Havasu Springs. I used to launch at Take-Off point with lighter boats, but the steep ramp makes it hard for the KIA' front tires to get the boat back out of the water! Maybe the new All Wheel Drive KIA I got a couple of weeks ago will solve that problem.

But we prefer the uncrowded and deep section of the lake between The Springs and the Pump Station on the California side. A few weeks ago we stopped to eat snacks on the boat and wandered into the 5MPH zone by the Arizona pumping station and while idling along in what seemed to be deep water I hit a pinnacle and dinged my prop - Something I have never done on the River. The pinnacle was very narrow and not easily detected except by the prop (I had about 3,500 pounds of ballast and 4 people on board). The river has shallow areas rather than things that stick up, so you can see the shallows well before you enter them - if you wear polarized sunglasses.

From this string of posts, I now know that many other Axis owners operate in my neighborhood. But I think I am still the only one who uses a KIA as a tow vehicle...
