Ya I def get the theory of moving weight around just wonder how much is necessary to get the boat over its tipping point so it will actually plane out.

Just wondering if he is running that extra 800-1600 he was talking about up in the front. I imagine not but thought I should ask.

I don't recommend running over 600lbs in the bow on top of the seats....especially wakeboarding. If you don't have a enough weight in the rear then when you stop after a rider falls, you may need a periscope. Don't ask me how I know.

Well after some research and being a bit confused I called OJ and spoke directly to their tech and after thoroughly talking through my needs we landed on a 985 (15 X 12.5) look forward to getting this thing on and out there. Should pull like a mad man. Image

Funny....I actually spoke with them yesterday about a 985 as well...I was curious how much of a difference it would be over my 2313

After all of this (and other) reading though I still don't know if there is a prop out there that will do what I want....I have decent rpm's while riding (3300-3500) with a good amount of ballast...I have noticed though as we load more and more I'm now at a point where I'm not a fan of how long it takes to plane out...if I've got all stock full, front and rear bags (750) and a 750 on the floor it's a bit slow.

I assume I could go a little more aggressive than the 2313 and I would basically sacrifice a bit of the top end and gas right? I th Get that was the point of the V3 props...supposedly to give you aggressive torque without as much loss up top?

How big do you need or are you just trying to push the limits of your boat? If you are pushing the limits of your boat, you need a bigger engine. How about you work on perfecting the wake of the boat and not push the limits. My little 330 engine with the oj945 does plenty for me and all my riders. Even the really good riders with cool inverts. Just enjoy your boat. Let someone else push the limits of the boat. Don't be that guy.

Thank you....super helpful. Hahahaha

I know I know...I honestly just don't know what the limit is...but I guess I found it. Never saying I need more though....not a single person on this forum needs what they have to begin with...it's all based on what we want, otherwise I would have something older for a third of the price. I actually was thinking that recently wakes are becoming like everyone's lifted trucks...just something to help in the pride department...I've ridden some monsters lately and they are very unnecessary.

Very true. I mean, who needs so much wake that their boat takes 1/8th mile to plane out and yet their best wake trick just going wake to wake heelside followed by a cased toeside jump. I just like a medium peaky wake with a firm lip and I'm good. I've seen plenty of inverts behind older 18' Bayliners so I don't blame the wake (not implying anyone here blames their wake). As Dezul said, enjoy a clean wake. We all know our "price point boat" already has the easiest set up, most consistent wake out there compared to others.
