Anybody camp on your boat? I'm thinking of making a tent to go over the boat for over night camping trips. Any idea's/pictures?

Interesting....not sure I'd ever do it but look forward to see what you come up with.

We just bought a 12 A22 and it's sitting on a lift at our house. The other night the temperature went down to like 31 degrees and I got paranoid, new to us boat and all. Anyway I went down to the boat in the middle of the night and lowered it into the water and ran it for about 10 minutes to bring it up to temp. As I was laying in the boat sort of under the cover I thought to myself, this is not a bad place to spend the evening.

Personally, I don't think you'd need much more than the cover. Just loosen it up around the sides and tighten it in the middle.

Fyi no need to worry about boat if it's on the water.. it won't freeze unless it gets really cold.

Never done it but if I were to, I really don't think a cover is necessary. That's just one more thing you have pack.

I have stayed overnight without a cover. The dew can get you pretty wet and I want to be prepared in case it comes a shower. I started on it last night. Just rough now but I think it will be pretty cool. Image

It's pretty much the same as a tent is made out of. I am going to add vents in top like a boat cover would have. If we desire to keep doing it after this weekend I am going to take the doors and windows out of a tent I have and sew them in.

How are you fastening to your boat? It looks like you are using the bow and stern tie down points. Is that some tension line running down each side of the boat fed through the holes of the cover? Looks pretty awesome. My wife REALLY wants to do something like this. I am very interested in how it works out for you.

Yes, I have ran a cord through the eyelets and attached to the front and rear cleats. I have the front attached with a rope through the eyelets to each side of the bow and the rear attached in the same manner. It is pretty secure and should withstand a decent summer storm.
