Has anyone switched out the factory wetsounds xs12 with a wetsounds xxx.

Got 2x rev410 on a SD4.. and need some more bass and the stock sub don't seem to be cutting it.

Want to use the same enclosure if possible, will that work?

Just don't know my mounting options.

would be easiest to take the xs12 out and plug in the xxx as looks like the cutout is the same but has almost 2x the mounting depth.

Going in a 2012 a22

Any help is appreciated.

Are you using a custom built enclosure or is it still free-air? Ideally in a enclosure you want it built to each individual sub's specifications.

If you have not installed a custom enclosure you are still running free air. I could spend the money on an enclosure first. I would be willing to be your stock sub would provide plenty of bass in the correct enclosure.

Basically, you sub now is mounting to that panel and that is pretty much it. I would also think you would need another amp to drive the new sub.

I agree. If it's free air still, a tuned bass reflex enclosure will be all you need. Now if you just want the XXX and a custom enclosure by all means get it because it'll hit hard if properly powered. Myself I'd get a JLw6 over a XXX but that's just my taste in subs.

Agree 100% on the JL option.

Yes I have the stock enclosure still, I just want to upgrade the sub as the 500rms stock unit don't seem to meet what I am looking for.

I was thinking the xxx with the SD2 for power. I will check out the JL. I just have all wetsounds and are very happy with them and keeping my boat outside most summer I know the wetsounds hold up to the elements well.

I guess I will talk to my local shop and see if they can Make a enclosure that will fit under the dash that won't take up all my leg room.

There is no enclosure in a 2012 is what we are saying. It's just a panel and air back there. Your stock sub in a REAL enclosure will sound pretty damn good actually
