I'm getting fluctuating readings on the depth gauge. It will go from say 15 ft. to DEEP, then jump back. At first, it seemed anything over 30' was reading DEEP, but it has become progressively more erratic.

I have no idea how the system is set up, where the sensor is, or how it reads?

Two questions:
Anyone had this issue?
Anyone have insight into how the system is set up...will assist me in trouble shooting.

I've heard of low battery voltage giving erratic readings. Mine will give spurious low depth alarms in the middle of the lake at times after I've been sitting on a single battery without the engine running.

Is it happening while you are moving?

Prop cavitation will cause sporadic readings in reverse.

Yes, typically while moving. Any speed. Mainly between 13 mph to cruising speed...23 mph.

Mine is very erratic while moving at those speeds too... I think there is too much 'noise' along the water surface.

I have a decent finder in my fishing boat, and it does the same thing at those speeds...

Thanks for the feedback. It didn't do this in the first summer of operation, and just recently started giving the varied readings. I'll keep an eye on it
