I/we (wife and kids) looked very hard at the Moomba but ended up with a T22 after we demoed both. Moomba is making a great boat, esp the Mojo and the Craz.
A few things that I remember liking about the Moomba: semi-closed cooling of the Raptor, reversible ballast pumps, helm and guages, convenient speed and wake plate controls, sliding rear bench seat with backrest, boat felt more substantially built.
Dislikes: cheap skins, inadequate stereo options, exterior graphics ( stickers and I didn't like any color options), throttle was too low for my liking ( very uncomfortable to drive)
No one in my family like the Mojo wave or wakeboard wake as much as the Axis. It wasn't even close. So my advice is to demo both and see which one fits you the best.

Yes it did. Here and Wakeworld. I really wanted the Mojo but too many people were advising against it who owned all different brands of boats.

A 70k-80k used low hour Natique might also be worth looking at. Even used, those boats have fantastic quality, wakes, and space.

I ordered a 2015 T23 and now have around 160 hours on it. I've had no major issues. I had to get the surf gate ram replaced (dealer took care of it). I also had to get an oil line replaced and that could have been bad had I not called it a day early when my low oil pressure light went off. The dealer also took care of that. I was not even considering an Axis when I bought until my buddy convinced me to give it a shot. Before I test drove, I tried out Moombas. Yes, the interior is nice. But the wake and wave were awful. The dealer had a tough time getting a surf wave to form and it was just embarrassing honestly. I've had a great experience with Axis and love my boat, I get lots of compliments on the looks. My dad and I had a Mobius a few years back and granted it was an 05, there is just no comparison to me. We had several major issues with that boat. If you can sacrifice a little bit of luxury on the interior for superior functionality, then I vote Axis. The boat can be pretty rough in rough water, but unless you're in a G, I don't think there is much difference amongst inboards.

I've only had 2 warranty problems one being a oil pressure sensor came unplugged, no biggie the other a busted seat stitch but both were fixed even though my dealer drug their feet but malibu got involved and it was resolved quick and drop shipped me a seat skin after a cluster fuck with that dealer now I use a different local dealer. We love our axis we came from a yamaha we bought new if you want to talk about a cheap pos that does nothing! Our next boat will more than likely be another axis/malibu unless we jump to a g which I doubt I'll do

While hanging out at the sandbar this weekend I met a guy with a 16' mojo and he said he was happy with the boat but the surf wake is very finicky. After seeing the boats next to each other, I think my t22 is a much better looking boat although I do like that aviator tower( looks and function), anyway he said he ordered 1100's (replacing 750's) for it so I'll be interested to see what he says after the upgrade. It's a good looking boat but I still think I prefer my Axis for its style, function, comfort

I have a 15 Moomba Mondo.

When I was looking it was between Moomba, Axis & MB.

Reason I loved the Moomba. Fit and finish, freeboard, surf wave, dealer, raptor & warranty.

Reason I liked the Axis. Exterior looks & surf wave.

Reason I liked the MB. Exterior was amazing, interior was superb, loved the gravity ballast, ok surf wave.

Yes my Moomba needed more weight for a nicer wave. I'm running 3300 now when stock was 2300. I upgraded to the new 2.0 AutoFlow blades (direct replacement of the old blades) & made. Huge difference in push.

I've come to realize almost every boat needs more than factory weight for a decent surf wave.

Reason I didn't choose Axis....

No matter how good the wave was I couldn't get over the interior. Carpet everywhere & the dash looked like it was from the early 90s. It was still a great boat & I love the exterior look of them but the wife couldn't get past the interior.

Reason I didn't choose MB...

The surf wave just wasn't there yet. It had the Gen 1 surf system & IMO the surf wave didn't get better till they added GSA. Even then it took a lot of weight to get a good wave (without listing).

When I buy. New boat next year I will look at Axis again but most likely I will be buying an MB unless Moomba or Axis blows me away.

Just my 2cents. Make sure to test drive them all and also take a look at MB.

Do you have any suggestions to help my buddy's 2015 mojo with manual flow out? It's surf wake is ok at best. It has little push. He has factory ballast plus two 400lb bags tied into the factory ballast. I personally think he needs more weight to help the push. I can't surf it. I surf my Axis perfectly. Since you have the mondo, what have you read on the moomba mojo for the perfect setup?

Don't want to hijack the thread but the Mojo needs weight. 1100s in each rear locker, 325lb under port seat & 750ibs will get the boat producing a great wave. Not quite sure on the manual flow settings but tell him to check out the Moomba forum. A lot of helpful tips on there (just like here) pm me if you have any questions.

I am currently looking to buy a tow boat with the intent of using it for surf and wakeboarding and was happy with my demo on the Moomba Mondo. A friend of mine has since turned me into the Axis line and the local dealer has an 2016 A22 that looks amazing and the price seems right.

I am new to this forum and wanted to get your opinions in why I should be buying this Axis boat over the Moomba.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Any update?
