Considering replacing the head unit in my A22 with a WS420. I'd like to mount the WS420 where the head unit originally was. Those who have done this what are the pros and cons? And how did you mount it?

Thanks guys!

I had one in my T23. The 420BT version and used it as my primary source. However, I left my head unit installed and ran that into the "Aux" input of the 420 so I could retain use of the stock head unit and transom remote if I ever wanted. I had the 420bt mounted on the black panel just behind the throttle lever and had the PA mic in the cubby below the throttle. It was the most ideal location for it in my opinion. Could control the sound while driving and also the PA mic.

I will have another one installed in my new boat for sure! Same location and also same wiring to retain all factory pieces.

Just my .02 and sorry, but I don't have any pictures of it. I'll see if I can google one of where mine was mounted.

I use the 420 and my factory headunit, I'll never own a boat without a ws420 again!

My stock head unit is acting suspect so I'd like to remove it from the system. Do you think the WS420 alone is sufficient? I'm concerned with preamp output voltage mainly as I only use the head unit now as a way to play music from my phone.

How did you mount it before finishing with the bezel?

I found an image of where I had my Wetsounds 420 installed. (Credit to Hydrotunes of Texas for the inspiration)
