For those that have an A24 is the standard 409 motor adequate or have any of you found when it is weighted down you need more power like the 450 would offer? I am at an altitude of about 1850 ft above sea level.

I have a 2015 A24 with the 409. Many times I have had it fully loaded (ballast and 8 buddies) with no issues. Primarily we are at sea level but once a year we are on Couer D Alene which is at about 2200', still no issues. Love my Axis!

The new also has 2:1 gear ratio unlike our crap ratio.. the 409 with the new gear ratio should surf with 8k lbs of ballast/ passangers no problem...

I have a 17 A24. I'm going to order a 18 this fall. We love the surf wave behind ours. I can only imagine how much nicer the pw2 will be. It's hard to beat all the room also. I have the 450 motor and will order it again. This was our first wake boat and have enjoyed the heck out of it.

I have a 2016 T-22 that got us hooked into surfing. In 18 months we have put 200 hours on it. But I do have a 2018 A-24 on order that should get here mid September.

My normal passenger load is me and 1-4 of my kids under 12. Unless I'm wanting to surf my wife will drive which she HATES because of all the "Crap in the boat". Hence why I'm buying an A-24. My dealer swears the PW2 and PNP will blow my current set up away. If it even matches it when I load it down I'm beyond happy, and I might get more riding time.

All the "crap in the boat"
When I want to set my boat up for a large wake. 1100 in the rear locker, not sure how much they actually weigh because they don't fill all the way before they start to vent. 650 PNP in bow and 900 on bow cushions with a 1000lb bag in the walk way. I agree with her there is no room to move around. And it's a hassle to set up.

do you have any photos of your wave? I would love to try that much weight but my wife wont have bags laying around the boat!(hard enough getting her to drive! lol)

I'll be curious of your feedback when you get the new boat. I have the 2016 T22 as well but the 18 changes including the surfband and pw2 have me really thinking to upgrade. ( Ill probably be more curious of your wife's feedback on the upgrade and how much you use the surfband.) as well as how much better the wave is over your T22. I have not surfed a T23 or A24 to compare how much bigger and longer they are.

Yes I do... I have a picture of the 2018 A24 wave and I took one of my 2016 T-22 wave to compare. However I tried using photobucket and it gives the 3rd party error. What photos upload site works?

One thing I have learned is looking at a wave doesn't mean shit.. you cant see push or how hard the wave is. My buddies x23 looks okay but surfs amazing! Tons of push and water is rock hard.

I would always say go for the bigger boat if you can. You can always grow into a boat. We have a 16 A24 and even on days when we only have 4 people on the boat it's fine. But on other days I've had 15 on there with room to spare. The wave is crazy as well.
