Looking at the comparison. 20 seconds is a long time to plane off. My gets to wake speed in about 7 seconds with 3000+ and wedge. Wake is super clean too. I really just wanted to make sure that I didn't make the wrong purchase.
Lol. this is funny. I was waiting for someone to call BS on this. 7 Seconds to "wake speed" (riding speed???) with 3000+ and wedge, no way. That would give that prop a "planing" time of 2 -3 seconds with no ballast. My Core prop (way more aggressive than the acme HA 1235 and maybe similar in bottom end performance to the new 15" prop you have) took about 8 seconds to get to 23.5 with no ballast and 4 dudes. And 20 seconds really is not long to get to 23 mph fully loaded and run lower rpms, planing time would have been more around 14-16 seconds, but I did not record that meaningless number.
Gibster. Please do a comparison with stop watches on that prop and your current prop. We can start a new thread with prop comparisons only, no comments or replies, that would be really useful for us and new owners. I am curious to see real numbers on it. I think you have the 1235 HA acme right? If it performs the way mwilliams is claiming, which it won't, i will buy it tomorrow. But, If it performs better than the 1235 and OJ cinco, it will be my next prop for sure.
As for the 6 prop comparison done by Acme with acme props, of course they will say the cinco performed the worst. It is possible that it is true, but I don't believe such a general statement made by a company against another companies product(s). If the acme 1615 was in that comparison, then the cinco would not be the "worst" in top speed or smoothness or noise...
