Hey Guys,

I was at Table Rock last week and had the boat in the water and docked (when not in use) for 5 days straight. We were out and about driving for about 8 hours overall during the 5 days, just me and my sweety, and we didn't ever swamp it or track in a bunch of excessive water.

Anyway.. when I finally pulled it out and while I was still on the ramp (at an extreme angle) I pulled the rear drain plug, because I knew it had water in it (checked the center plug area while I was on the lake and could feel water down there). The boat had a steady stream of water for at least 2-3 minutes, I'm guessing it must of had 20-30 gallons of water in the hull.

Seems excessive, I'm thinking I might have a leak issue..maybe around the prop shaft or one of the ballast pumps?

Anyone else having these issues? I've got about 65 hours on it now and will probably just have it addressed at the end of the season... unless it seems to get worse.

Got some water in mine as well. Havent had a chance to really check into it yet though. I hate having water in the bilge for any reason! Not sure if its a ballast connection or coming in elsewhere. I thought these had dripless shaft seals? I know my Moomba LSV did & it was a 2007. Let me know what you find out.

Check the ballast fittings to make sure they are not cracked. Also check the packing nut around the vdrive to the drive shaft. Mine is not drippless and I have a steady stream of water coming in (it should drip ever 10 seconds or so, it needs to be adjusted). You can adjust it your self with a packing nut wrench. We adjusted my buddies BU and my other buddies moomba lsv, its a pretty easy fix.

My 2010 A22 started taking on water at the beginning of my second season of use. Easily 10 gallons after just a few hours on the water. The nearest dealer, Boat Country in Escalon, was totally useless; they wouldn't even put it on the water. They just said there was nothing they could do. So, I brought it to the next closest dealer, Salinas Valley Marine, who was awesome- put the boat on the water and found the leak at one of the swim platform brackets, which hadn't been sealed by the manufacturer. Nice job Axis for the lack of attention to detail and for having Boat Country in Escalon as one of your dealers. Sorry, it was a terrible experience.

Wow Scott, sucks to hear about your bad experience with Boat Country. I bought my 2012 from them and while it's taken a couple of phone calls and sometimes a visit, they've always taken care of me.

Every new boat has issues- that's what the warranty is there for. Boat Country should have fixed it and I'd write a letter to Axis explaining the poor treatment you received there.
