Are the bow speakers wired into the MTX TE 404 on sound pak 3 or they just running off the head unit power? The wiring at the terminals on the amp appear to only have 4 leads, unless the bow speakers are paralleled into 2 of the leads somewhere hidden?

sound pak 3 has 2 factory amps. the other amp is only powering the towers & sub. Im only curious how this is wired from the factory on the te404.

On mine all speakers were on an amp, the 4 rear interiors were together in pairs @ 2ohms, the 2 bow speakers were separate, on mine they were all 6 on the front 2 channels of the amp @ .9 ohms, I separated the front from the rear to lighten the load on the amp, the amp really can't handle less than 2 ohms.

i would think that the sub and tower speakers would be on different amps but i could be completly incorrect

Unfortunately from the factory you get 2 amps, instead of three. adding a third amp to this system should be the first thing you do if you don't think it sounds good enough. the one amp runs all of the cabin speakers (including the bow) which is not that bad but the second amp runs the 4 tower speakers and the sub which is not enough power for it to perform all that well. I added a third amp dedicated to the sub and bridged the amp running the tower speakers (front channel bridged to run the 2 left tower speakers, rear channel bridged to run the 2 right ones). You can still get the right fading by hooking the left RCA to the front input of the amp and the right RCA to the rear. this made a world of difference.

Didnt this present a bridged 2ohm load to front/rear of the amp? That mtx 604 is not capable of running like this per the spes? Have you had any probs with it over heating running it like this?

My 604 burned up the crossover by having too much load on it, I ended up going with a syn4 and 2 rev10's and then I got a separate amp for the sub, I literally just this week got the 604 replaced under warranty, the dealer has had my old one since September last year. My te404 has been working great after I split the front and rear speakers apart and put them on different channels of the amp, I adjusted the gains with a scope and the 404 will make 65 watts @ 4ohms before clipping FYI, so Now I have to find something
To do with this 604 I have lying
Around.

I havent had any issues as of yet(30 hrs). and the way i look at it is... If they are willing to send me my boat with a speaker setup that already overloads the amp past its recomended specs (2ohms per side) then what would be the difference if i bridged it and got way cleaner power to my tower speakers. A 2ohm load is still a 2ohm load either way you look at it. And these amps arent supposed to have that low resistance. Nothing kills a speaker quite like dirty low power so i figured i would give my poor tower speakers a fighting chance lol.

Hope this answer makes sense...

You could always install the te604 in place of the te404. Should net you an additional 15w to speakers wired 4Ohm and 25w to speakers wired @2Ohm. :D
