If you use the auto charging relay like I do, you don't have to mess with the battery switch 99% of the time. I just leave the switch on 1 all the time. I used to rely on the switch before I added that and would always forget to change it. The ARC makes things much simpler. Only cost about $100 plus maybe another $20-30 in parts to wire it in.

Thanks for mentioning that, I hadn't heard of one. Do you still have a mechanical switch?, and this is in addition to it? Or does it displace it? How do you hook it up? Found some online, but I don't see how it works from what they write.

IF you decide to go with a Blue Sea ACR, it's highly recommended to also get the bypass or still use a manual switch. Reason is IF the ACR fails (it is an electrical device so it is possible) theres a good chance that you will not know it until you try to start the boat and you have battery issues. Without the bypass you're screwed if you're on the water and dont have the tools to do some on water troubleshooting and/or rewiring. With the bypass you can manually switch over to the other battery bank and hopefully start the boat. The bypass switch is very inexpensive.

I had 2 Trojan T-105 (golf cart batteries) running a Punch T-1000 with L7 and Punch 300.1 running 2 WS 6x9 in titan cases, plus 4 in boat speakers and Kenwood head unit. We jammed for 8 hours during 4th of july on the lake. Never had to charge them while at the lake. I didn't have the switch option of charging them off the boat engine(old boat). I would trickle charge them at night. There rated for 200 amps continues for 1 hour at 6 volts. The only problem is, 2 of them is over 100lbs and you can't charge them with high output charger. They only hold 12.1-12.2 volts so if you fast charge you will boil acid out or swell. I had a 1.5amp trickle charger from harbor frieght i would leave connected and just plug in when I got home.

I am going to put these batteries in my Axis this winter...

Trojan T-105 is the most popular 6 volt used for boat stereos. Just two T-105 6 volts is like having 4 Interstate SRM29 batteries.
